Chocolate orange brownies
1 hour
Take your brownie game to the next level – by adding a fresh orangey twist!
Ingredients
200g butter
chopped
200g dark chocolate, chopped
zest of 1 large orange
4 large eggs
350g caster sugar
100g plain flour
50g cocoa powder
100g dark chocolate orange, chopped
(allergens: wheat, dairy, eggs)
Method
Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4 and line a 24 x 20cm brownie tin with baking parchment. Put the butter, dark chocolate and orange zest in a glass bowl non-stick saucepan and gently melt over a very low heat, continually stirring. When completely melted and combined remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Whisk the eggs and sugar together with an electric whisk in a large bowl until the mixture is pale and leaves a trail when beaters are lifted. Spoon the chocolate into the bowl and gently fold into the sugar and egg mixture. Sift over the flour and cocoa, stir in, then add the orange chocolate.
Pour into the lined tin and bake for 35-40 mins. Cool completely in the tin, then lift out the parchment paper before cutting the brownies into squares.
