Support us
Second Helpings is proud to be a community project, supported by the community for the good of the community. Together, we can make a real difference – ending food waste in Stamford and ensuring surplus food nourishes people, not landfill. If you share our vision, there are many ways you can get involved.

Donate
Thanks to the generosity of our local suppliers, we get our food for free. However, we still have bills to pay, from utilities such as gas, water and rent, to PPE, food packaging and cleaning products that ensure our premises are clean and the food our customers receive is always safe.
That’s why we offer our services on a pay-as-you-feel basis. Customers contribute whatever they feel is fair for their bag of shopping or three-course Saturday lunch, or whatever they can afford.
We also welcome donations from anyone who may not use our services but believes in our mission. Every contribution, big or small, helps us continue our work. If this is you, simply click the donate button to give to our cause – any amount is very gratefully received.

“I am all for minimising food waste and think it is a great idea.”

Fundraising
Whether you’re a master baker or a marathon runner, your hobbies can help to generate funds for our organisation. If you’re planning a fundraising activity, let us know at hello@secondhelpings.org.uk. We’d love to support your efforts!

Suppliers
Our work is only possible thanks to the generosity of local suppliers. Due to the current cost of living crisis we have more and more demand for our services so we are always looking to grow our supplier network. We take food from farms, supermarkets, wholesalers and convenience stores. To ensure food is safe for our customers to consume we only take produce that is within date, fully traceable, has been correctly stored, and if packaged carries its original labelling.
If you think your organisation can help fill the Pantry shelves or provide the ingredients for our Saturday lunches, please get in touch.
