Pawsome day at the Dog Show

Second Helpings sets out its stall at the Dog Show

The sun shone on Stamford’s pooch parade and we were there to cheer them on in all their Sunday best.

We brought fruit, veg and pastries all collected from local supplies to fuel the hungry showgoers. We even had homeade dog snacks – naturally made from surplus food – ensuring all attendees enjoyed a treat. 

Along with signing up people to join our volunteer team, and the occasional bit of dog-sitting, we also had name the puppy competition, which was won by local resident Maurice. His friend’s grandson Keagan is now the owner of cuddly toy Bailey.

 A huge thank you to everyone who picked up some food and made a donation. We raised lots of money, all of which goes to helping us continue to save food, serve people and strengthen the community.
