Food Supplier
Contributing to communities across the UK is a huge part of who we are at Aldi. We’re always looking at ways to prevent food waste in the first place, but when surplus does happen, our focus is on making sure good food can still be put to use.
Working together to reduce food waste
Through our partnership with Neighbourly, Aldi stores can donate surplus food to local community organisations, helping food that might otherwise go to waste reach the people and projects that need it.
We’re proud to support Second Helpings through this partnership. By helping provide a supply of surplus food, Aldi is supporting Second Helpings’ work to rescue good food and make it available to the local community. It’s a simple idea with a positive impact: food that might otherwise be wasted can instead be used to nourish people, support the community and help reduce food waste.
For Second Helpings, partnerships with local food businesses and retailers are an important part of making the project work. The food they receive is used through their community café, pantry and community fridge, all run with the support of volunteers.

“We’re proud to support Second Helpings through our partnership with Neighbourly. By helping surplus food reach a local community project, we can play our part in reducing food waste while supporting the important work Second Helpings does for people in Stamford.”
